New Patient Quality of Life Consultation - $400

Includes doctor’s travel to your home† for comprehensive evaluation of care available for aging or terminally ill companion animals.  During this exam your doctor will examine and discuss your pets life. Your doctor will know your pet. There will be an behavioral and medical history evaluation including previous medical records.  If indicated we will make second opinions or recommend specialist referral. We will evaluate for possible environmental barriers to comfort and health. We will discuss options for hospice and palliative care.  We will explore whether your friend may benefit from new or additional medicine for pain, inflammation, microbial overpopulation, nausea, hydration, and nutrition. If timely, a discussion about end-of-life choices and options for saying goodbye.  Including helping the surviving family find the right support. The exam usually lasts 60-90 minutes. This consultation is not required prior to scheduling an in-home euthanasia.  A link for the intake form for this appointment is here.

In Home Euthanasia

Includes doctor’s travel† to your home, a pre-euthanasia consultation, premedication of your pet with sedatives, anti-anxiety, pain control, and anesthesia drugs, administration of the pentobarbital for euthanasia, and notification of the euthanasia to your regular vet. This process usually takes about an hour.

Follow Up Consultation - $130

Examination of existing* patient for changes in heath status. Revision of treatment plan based on progress. This visit usually lasts about 40 min

All Private cremations come with a complimentary urn.  Communal cremation includes burial of cremains at the Friends Remembered farm.   No ashes are available for return with a communal cremation.

A clay paw print and glass vial of hair are complimentary when requested during the euthanasia appointment.    Other memorial options are only available with a private individual cremation.  Please contact Friends Remembered for memorial item pricing 405-637-6556.

We try to make payment as easy as possible.  If you would like to pay in advance so there are less distractions during the appointment,  Zelle or Apple Pay can be used to send payment ahead of time.  In addition to Apple Pay or Zelle  during the appointment venmo, check, cash, or credit cards are also accepted. Checks should be made out to Paws at Peace.  There is a 3% convenience fee when processing credit and debit card payments.  We do not accept Care Credit.

 

Paws At Peace home service area is the Edmond, West Guthrie, Piedmont, Yukon, Warr Acres, Bethany, Nichols Hills, The Village, and North of I40 OKC areas.   Service in other areas is available by special arrangement and with additional travel fees.  In our normal service area private cremations will receive hand delivered remains, urn, and memorial items.   Outside our home service area, remains and memorial items will be sent to you at no extra charge or you can make arrangements with Dr. Roach to pick them up at Friends Remembered.

 

* In order to maintain an adequate Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (VCPR) it is industry standard for healthy pets to have an physical exam yearly at minimum.  Because geriatric pets have more frequent changes in health status Paws at Peace requires a physical exam interval of 4 months at maximum.   For more information about VCPR please visit the AVMA.
